Mistress Catherine Finch, Almoner
My name is Catherine finch, tho
I am often called Birdy by other members of the household due to my love of singing. I am the almoner in the household of
the Viscount Montague and at 18 years of age I have been in my lord Montague?s service for 8 years. I was born and raised
not far from Cowdry house and when my parents died my family paid the lord Montague to take me into service in his household.
When I first arrived I spent most of my time in the kitchens and have since furthered myself to my current position. As the
almoner I am in charge of making sure the main rooms are presentable and to my lords liking. I am also in charge of keeping
the fires lit, notifying the household when visitors or goods have arrived and most importantly I am in charge of handing
out the alms weather of food or money. When the lord is away I also run errands and deliver messages for him. I hope to one
day be a lady?s maid for my lords sister, the Countess of Worcester of perhaps for his wife if he should take another. I try
to do my best to keep my lord Montague and his family happy and I take much pride in my work and love being praised for a
job well done. In my spare time I love to sew and play games I also try to see the joust or any traveling performers whenever
possible.
